Focus and Scope
ESTETIKA: Jurnal Telaah Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajarannya is an open-access journal providing a platform for the publication of scientific articles and research findings in the fields of language, literature, and education. It is published by the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Khairun, Ternate. The journal aims to serve as a medium for the dissemination of ideas for lecturers, researchers, teachers, students, and educational practitioners.
ESTETIKA invites original manuscripts in the form of research articles and review articles covering the following topics:
A. LINGUISTICS
This section covers pure (theoretical), applied, and interdisciplinary linguistic studies:

Micro-linguistics: Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, and Semantics of Indonesian and regional languages.

Macro-linguistics:

Sociolinguistics: The relationship between language and society, language variation, diglossia, and code-switching.

Psycholinguistics: Language acquisition, language processing, and language disorders.

Pragmatics: Speech acts, implicature, and linguistic politeness.

Anthropolinguistics & Ethnolinguistics: The intersection of language, culture, and ethnicity.

Discourse Analysis: Textual and contextual discourse analysis, and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA).

Other Applied Linguistics: Forensic Linguistics, Clinical Linguistics, Translation Studies, and Language Planning/Policy.
B. LITERATURE
This section includes studies on Indonesian literature, regional literature, and comparative literature using various approaches:

Literary History and Theory: The development of literary periods and the application of contemporary literary theories.

Literary Criticism: Analysis of Prose (Short Stories/Novels), Poetry, and Drama/Theater.

Interdisciplinary Approaches: Sociology of Literature, Psychology of Literature, Ecocriticism, and Literary Anthropology, among others.

Oral Literature and Philology: Studies on folklore, oral traditions, local cultural preservation, and ancient manuscript studies.

Children’s and Young Adult Literature: Studies on character education and psychological values in youth literature.

Cyber and Popular Literature: Research on literary phenomena in the digital era and pop culture.

Adaptation (Ecranisation): The transformation of literary works into other art forms (film, music, performance).
C. LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE EDUCATION
This section encompasses all pedagogical aspects of teaching Indonesian Language and Literature across various educational levels:

Curriculum Development: Analysis and development of the Indonesian language curriculum (including the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka).
